Classics at its Best

Though i am not a classical fan,the moment i heard this melody from Carmina Burana it was music to my ears.The words they were so powerful and had a sense of authority in them.The fate that governs us , explains how we fall into her handa and that which is unaviodable.

Movies I recommend for the sensible mind.

Though this is an individual opinion, i would like to say that the movies that i mention in this post are truly great movies that have withstood the test of time and shown muster in them and still inspire us,fills us with emotions with the great aura thatx still bellies them.Some of the great moies that evr made and not ranked in order are :

1) Citizen Kane : A great cinematic landmark that was made ahead of its time.Made by a little known actor/director (Orson Welles), the movie talks about the rise and fall of a newspaper publisher, Charles Foster Kane, whose lust for power and wealth isolates him in his castlelike refuge.

2)Raiders of the Lost Ark : A steven speilberg blockbuster has to go in my list.this movie was a pure joy with the spirit and adventuere that truly keeeps u in the edge of the seat.

3)Godfather(I & II) : what to talk about this legend of a movie.Everbody knows about it,and evrybody still talks about it. A masterpeice made by francis ford coppolla.

4)Shawshank Redemption : One of the movies that totlaly blew me away.The one that got me saying "..oh is that what he was planning ....thats smart". One terrific movie,crisp screenplay and editing and a terrific cast to sum it all.

5)Butch cassidy and the sundance kid : "Raindrops keep fallin on my head....." Who would forget this song . The movie showcased the talents of 2 brilliant actors of their time ...Robert redford(who was launced into stardom after this) and paul newman who shared a sizziling chemistry (strangely enuf not repeated in otehr movies). the movie still manages to get some laughs out of it.

6)Unforgiven : Clint eastwoods oscar winning movie that was just super in everything.Loved the movie(start to end).

7) Clear and Present Danger : It was one of the most intelligent thrillers that i have seen in my times. the political maneouvering, drug mafias, the diplomacy...it was all too good!! Though harrison ford is always considered as a method actor who plays to the situation, i have seriously liked him in this role. Its not a gun-blazing film , but a movie that will thrill you till the end.

8) Million dollar Baby : The best movie oscar winner in its year, was made by the accomplished Clint Eastwoord that earned the talented Hillary Swant her second oscar. It was a emotional movie where i completely rooted with the charactres played by swank and clint. The ending is just moved me man !!

9) Fight Club : Though panned by the critics & audience alike in its release, it soon became a cult favourite after its release on the DVD. A crazy hell of a movie that will test the endurance of human strenght and physical ascpect of things. All the more a macho movie that is a must watch in my list.... and oh the ending is worth watching !!!

10) Pulp Fiction : I love quientin tarentinos movies !!! His movies are the absolute epitome of uber cool, mind boggling, funny as hell dialogues & hard to imagine situations. Gangta movies are his genre (look at REserviour dogs & Kill Bill...) and nobody can touch him at that. One of the great filmmakers of this era!!!
